Within the community there are 176 lots, averaging 1 to 5 acres, starting at $150,000, with 30 lots available for purchase in Phase 1 which begins Oct. 1st, 2009. On the lots will be fully sustainable residences, known as the Suns Nest Home which will be 2500 sq ft, that produce their own energy, grown their own food, recycle their water 4 to 6 times and are made of natural or recycled building materials wherever possible.
The community will offer 100 affordable sustainable dwellings, known as the Suns Nest Pod, which will be 1000 sq ft and offer similar features as the Home. In addition, Freedom Mountain will have 164 green condo conversions using recycled building materials, energy efficient lighting fixtures, Energy Star appliances, no VOC paints and Solar Panels for up to 50% on site renewable energy production.
